Headed south?? Need a pit stop to get the wiggles out and grab a great (scratch that)
*amazing* bite to eat?!
Around a 2 hour and 20 minute drive from Madison sits @peach_park_clanton in Clanton, Alabama. We discovered it a few years ago on our first beach trip with our son, Owen. I was looking for ALL the places to stop with a baby.
If you time it right for lunch, grab a bite to eat. Peach Park has daily specials that can include fried catfish filets, smoked ribeye pork chop, meatloaf, and southern sides like corn nuggets, hush puppies, fried green tomatoes, and Mac and cheese just to name a few. End your meal with delicious peach cobbler (it’s worth the stop just for this!) and/or homemade ice cream.
Enjoy your meal in the diner or grab a spot outside while the kids play. There are so many options for them to enjoy: swings, slides, seesaw, and more. They’ve even added a small stage and now offer live music throughout the week.
If you’re traveling early, before Peach Park opens for lunch, grab breakfast next door at Peach Park Express!! Here, they sell all of their BBQ, cobbler, homemade ice cream, etc. all day, 7 days a week. If you’re in a hurry, stop by! Same owners. Same food.
Done eating? Grab something from their indoor market to enjoy at your destination or some peaches to cook with at home. There’s so much to choose from! The market also includes a boutique with clothing, bags, coozies, tumblers, and more.
It’s truly the perfect place to stop along the way. Our kids didn’t want to leave.
Have you been?!
